Q1 What is your opinion of campus carry?

I don’t really even understand why it’s a thing given that we haven’t really had problems with safety here that much, at least not in my experience, besides having those tension points between racial groups and liberals politics-wise. I think it’s been fairly, I guess, safe. Plus, UPD is sort of on the ball but also a little bit here and there for my liking.

Q2 Have you noticed any difference since this change went into effect?

Not really, I haven’t even seen anybody carry a gun on campus other than UPD, but it’s not like I’m going out and looking for it either.

Q3 Do you know anyone that has a CHL?

No

Q4 Does Knowing or not knowing that some students on campus may be carrying fire arms put you at ease?

I feel like if I knew I would be a little more worried. If I don’t see them or I’m not aware of them I feel fine about it. Like unless I’m put in the situation where I have to rely on the students that are carrying the gun then I guess I would be at ease but there would be a danger for me too.

Q5 If you could change this policy would you?

I want to say no because it doesn’t affect me, or at least it hasn’t, but I can see how other students would want to change it. Its honestly not all that necessary but that’s Texas I guess.

Q1 What is your opinion of campus carry?

I think you have to look at the larger gun control issues as a whole. While I’m pro Second Amendment  I think that there are some people who shouldn’t just be able to go to a weekend class and carry a weapon around, but people who are appropriately trained and have experience should fully be able to enjoy their second amendment rights on or off campus. My personal philosophy is I would prefer it to be more restrictive.

Q2 Have you noticed any difference since this change went into effect?

No, I have not noticed any difference at all.

Q3 Do you know anyone that has a CHL?

Yes, I Know people who carry on campus and I didn’t know until the subject came up.

Q4 Does knowing or not knowing that some students on campus may be carrying fire arms put you at ease?

Since I haven’t witnessed anybody carrying except the one or two people that have told me because we were going somewhere after class to work or wherever and they’re like I need to keep this in my car because I can’t take it in here. No, it doesn’t bother me at all because it’s not visible to me, and I feel I’ve been through a lot of stressful combat situations and had bullets shot at me and go over my head so I feel confident in my ability to react well .
