Q1: What are your thoughts on arming teachers to protect the school?

A1: I am not too sure how I feel about teachers and guns. I mean, I think they should undergo a lot of training the way police officers do. I am a teacher, and just the thought of having a gun in my classroom freaks me out. I would be scared to be held accountable for that gun.

Q2: Whose responsibility do you think it should be to keep the school safe?

A2: I know it sounds bad, but schools should have metal detectors and better security. As a teacher, more importantly a parent I would want to be sure nobody is going into my child's school armed, not even with a pocket knife, even that is dangerous.

Q3: How do you feel about the state using your tax to fund this training for teachers?

A3: I think it is a good idea that they get trained because our children are in their care, but I do think if we were to monitor who we let in schools and be sure they don't have weapons there would be no need for training.

Q1: What are your thoughts on campus carry?

A1: I honestly think it is scary. We go to a bigger university and you really don't know who is capable of what. I think there should be very strict rules on who can carry a concealed weapon. If you have a mental illness I don't think you should be able to carry one. It would keep us all safe.

Q2: What are your thoughts on teachers/instructors being armed to protect the school? I think it is a good idea, they would be able to take care of the kids and keep them safe.

Q3: What other options would you give the government on keeping kids safe?

A3: I think knowledge and regulation are the best options on keeping our kids safe. Everyone should be aware of how a gun works and if a gun has the word “assault” in it or police don't even carry it, regular people shouldn’t be allowed to carry it either. I feel like knowledge is power, we should be informed at all times.
