Q1: Are you aware of the ongoing controversy surrounding arming teachers?
A1: Yes I have heard about that one.
Q2: What are your thoughts?
A2: I’m a little bit in the middle because I feel like it
would benefit for teachers to have guns but there’s always gonna be that one
person who would mess it up for everyone, regardless. They’re gonna let it go
off, someone’s gonna find it, or a students gonna find it and terrorize the
whole school. I’m against it, one hundred percent.
Q3: If you were a parent, how would you feel if your
children were around those teachers?
A3: I wouldn’t feel safe letting my kid go to school knowing
every teacher in that school had a gun on them. It’s way too risky! In a
district? That’s ridiculous. They’re going way too far with that.
Q4: What are your thoughts regarding schools around the US
with the same issue?
A3: The precaution to provide guns to teachers is going way
too far with it, regarding by what’s been going on lately, and now I know why
they have a reason behind it. But honestly it would cause things to be way
worse than they already are and cause more situations to increase. Things like
this would happen every other day or maybe every week.
Q5: How would you go about improving children’s safety in
school and education?
A5: I feel like improving the safety of children would be
better if school districts got together and figured out new precautions. For instance,
when I was in high school in Tennessee, we used to have to scan our thumb print
to make sure that we were a student and would keep a log to see when we left
and when we arrived at school. It’s a much better precaution to guarantee our
safety. But then again it’s another state and maybe Texas can learn from them.

Q1: Are you aware of the ongoing controversy surrounding arming teachers?
A1: Yes, yes I am
aware.
Q2: What are your
thoughts?
A2: Honestly I don’t
think teachers should have guns. They have so much on their plate already, it’s
not something they should worry about. On top of having a gun you have to be
trained.
Q3: If you were a
parent, how would you feel if your children were around those teachers?
A3: I honestly
wouldn’t feel too safe. If they were trained to carry weapons maybe I would be
okay but mostly uncomfortable.
Q4: What are your
thoughts regarding schools around the US with the same issue?
A3: It’s tragic,
devastating, and it’s mostly horrible…
Q5: How would you go about improving
children’s safety in school and education?
A5: Well I would say
maybe having standing officers at the front gates and metal detectors around
the area. Pretty much the whole idea of safety.
