Q: What was your first reaction when campus carry was first enacted?
A: I was uncomfortable with the idea of campus carry.. I grew up around guns, but I always knew the people handling the guns were skilled and took safety measures. I do not have that same sense of security with strangers carrying guns on campus, especially with all the school shootings in recent history.
Q: Would you say that the policy has changed much of your daily routine on campus?
A: The policy has not changed my daily routine. On campus, I try to maintain awareness of my surroundings. Because campus carry is concealed carry, there isn't a visible change in the learning environment. Over time, the campus carry policy went to the back of my mind.
Q: Would you prefer if it was repealed?
A: Yes, but in the end, a policy alone will not prevent someone from bringing and using a weapon, if he or she chooses to do so.

A: I thought it was a bad idea. It's still a bad idea. It will always be a bad idea.
Q: So you wouldn't say that you've felt safer while on campus since its been enacted?
A: I feel less safe. NYPD hits 20% of the time with their guns, and they're trained professionals. I don't trust my fellow students or the school faculty with a gun in a high-stress situation.
Q: What kind of changes do you think should be made to concealed carry at the university?
A:I think it should be repealed immediately.
