Andrew Vela – Aspiring Film Director Plans to Graduate in Spring of ‘19

Andrew Vela, a Public Relations and Media Studies senior, will graduate on time. In the Spring of 2019 this Austinite will walk across the stage, when his name is called from a group of students for the last time, at Texas State University’s graduation. His achievements include attaining the position of Assistant Music Director for KTSW, the school’s radio station, and writing for the website Super Bro Movies which has about 40,000 followers on Twitter. Andrew has collected vinyl records since high school, and has recently taken up the hobby of photography. He hopes that his love of movies coupled with his experiences at the university will help him to ultimately write and direct movies in his spare time. Upon graduation, Vela would like to create a career that will lead to the role of Media Director for a large agency. Andrew has a bright future, but for now he must wait for his final roll call.
